Stakeholders endorse 2nd Edition medical conference

Several stakeholders in the medical industry have endorsed the 2nd edition of All Things Medical, conference and exhibition being organized by Daily Trust Newspapers and Prompt Home Health.
The minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole has endorsed the conference and will be presenting the key note address at the event.
The special adviser to the minister of health on media, Mrs Akinola Akinboade said that the minister would grace the occasion and give the key note address as he is passionate about improving the health sector.
“the minister is quite passionate about improving the sector, his greatest concern is to ensure that Nigerians get quality, accessible and affordable care without necessary paying out of pocket, as the head of the health team he is also concerned with reducing medical tourism to the barest minimum”.
The Former President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) Pharm Ahmed Yakasai who commended the effort noted that the event would definitely provide a platform that would allow all stakeholders in the medical sector push for a way forward to salvage the system. 
He condemned the low budgetary allocation to the health sector and added that the way and manner the system is being run encourages the brain drain of medical professional to other countries seeking greener pastures.
The president of the Health Managed Care Association of Nigeria (HMCAN) Dr Tunde Ladele speaking about event said that HMOs were interested in being part of the conference and exhibition as it would provide the much needed platform to brainstorm if insurance is to be encouraged in Nigeria.
He lamented that Nigerians were yet to fully appreciate the benefits of health insurance and added that speaking on the issues would help reduce the out of pocket spending on health.
In another development the Guild of Medical Director and the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has encouraged its members to be part of the event as it help enhance their professionalism.
